The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Service Board has authorized James Benjamin's elevation from Assistant Superintendent of Corrections II to Assistant Superintendent of Corrections I in recognition of his valor during the attack on the Kuje jail in June 2022.
The promotion was announced on Thursday, May 3, by the Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Haliru Nababa. According to Umar Abubakar, who made the announcement, Haliru Nababa's suggestion was the reason for the promotion.
James Benjamin, ASC I, was an Assistant Superintendent of Corrections II before to his current promotion. Benjamin was hired into the Service on August 6, 2012, as an Assistant Inspector.
Ahmadu Adamu, the acting Deputy Controller General in charge of the Directorate of Human Resources, spoke on behalf of the Controller-General and said that the Service is prepared to recognize and honor the dedication of its employees in the performance of their tasks.
