Syrian dictator Assad reportedly transferred $135 billion to Russia before fleeing to Moscow

 

Syrian dictator, Bashar al-Assad illegally transferred $135 billion to Russia, Khalid Bey, an intelligence officer for the ousted Syrian regime, has told the Turkish newspaper Turkiye Gazetesi.


Rebel forces swept into the capital of Damascus on Sunday, December 8, ousting President Bashar al-Assad and taking control of the country.

ABU defeated the Nigerian Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, in a closely contested competition held on December 5, 2024, at the Kano State College of Education and Preliminary Studies (KASCEPS), Kano State.

The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, has urged Nigerians to reconsider leaving the country, popularly referred to as "Japa." He assured that the CBN is working toward creating an economy where everyone and every business can thrive.

 

Cardoso made this appeal in his keynote address at the 59th annual Bankers Dinner organized by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) in Lagos.

 

US approves $385m arms sales to Taiwan despite protest from China

 

The United States has approved the sale of spare parts for fighter jets, radar systems, and tactical communications equipment to Taiwan in deals valued at $385 million, according to a statement released by the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) on Friday.

 

Although Washington does not have formal diplomatic relations with Taipei, it remains Taiwan’s most crucial ally and largest arms supplier. The latest deals reinforce the US commitment to supporting Taiwan’s defense capabilities amidst increasing military pressure from China.
