Russia confirms it smuggled ousted Syrian president Bashar al-Assad out of Syria

 

Russian President, Vladimir Putin's allies have confirmed for the first time today that Russia helped President Bashar al-Assad flee Syria to Moscow. 

 

Sergei Ryabkov, Russia's deputy foreign minister, claimed that Assad was transported out of Syria 'in the most secure way possible' over the weekend.

Syrian dictator, Bashar al-Assad illegally transferred $135 billion to Russia, Khalid Bey, an intelligence officer for the ousted Syrian regime, has told the Turkish newspaper Turkiye Gazetesi.

Rebel forces swept into the capital of Damascus on Sunday, December 8, ousting President Bashar al-Assad and taking control of the country.

The United States has approved the sale of spare parts for fighter jets, radar systems, and tactical communications equipment to Taiwan in deals valued at $385 million, according to a statement released by the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) on Friday.
